Anthi Sidiropoulou

Dr. Anthi Sidiropoulou is a Assistant Professor at the Department of Communication and Media Studies and a researcher at the Psychology of Communication Lab, where she works on the study of the psychological aspects of digital mediated communication and issues concerning identity and relationships on children, adolescents and young adults. The subject of her doctoral dissertation was the investigation of the relationship of adolescents to internet addiction, which she completed in 2014 at the University of Athens. Her research interests lay in the field of psychodynamic approaches to mediated communication and psychology of media and cyberspace. She obtained a Master Degree in Social Organization and Social Change (University of Crete, 2007) and a bachelor in Sociology (University of Cyprus, 2004). She has participated as a researcher in various research programs. She is teaching graduate and post graduate courses and participating in academic conferences on the themes of internet addiction, cyberspace and transitional objects and the psychological impact of digital technology on children's and adolescents' behavior.
